Crymych go close to victory against second-placed Gowerton

Gowerton 26 - Crymych 20

Crymych produced a strong second-half display after trailing 21-10 to Gowerton at half time but some important missed chances cost them dearly and in the final analysis had to settle for a losing bonus point for being within seven points.

Strong-running centre Tomos Phillips and winger Tomos Lewis crossed for the Preseli Men’s tries as young centre Ifan Phillips slotted both conversions and two penalties.

But Gowerton remain in second spot as a result of tries from Josh Hayward, Anthony Osborne and Phil Hartley (2), three of them converted by Lyn Simons – and coach Randall Williams now has the task of raising his sides’ spirits for Saturday’s home tussle with sixth-placed Dunvant.
